Irish Great War Society

Our 1st branch is the Irish Great War Society which includes an advanced dressing and our field display, where through the realistic re-enactment of First World War scenarios we portray the Irish men and women that served in Irish Regiments of the British Army in 1914/1918, and also in other corps and voluntary units.  

We strive to bring realism into our field displays by wearing and using authentic uniforms and equipment, and also by accurately performing the drills and exercises carried out by service personnel during that period. to be the war to end all wars.

We remember the 230,000* Irishmen that fought in the Great War, the 45,000* that were killed in action, and the numerous forgotten men that died from their wounds many, many years after the war ended.

Also with us this year and new to the Irish Company will be the Irish Victorian Society please see the picture with the red uniforms. In this era we bring realism into our displays by wearing and using authentic uniforms and equipment, we accurately train the drills and exercises carried out by service personnel during that period. We again try to the best of our ability portray the Irish story in the Victorian era from the Zulu wars to both Boar wars.
